Currently retired from United Airlines since August 2020. Started out civilian flying and graduated from Embry Riddle in Daytona Beach, August 1977. Flight instructed for the college then went to Pontiac Michigan and flew charter/flight instructed for a Beechcraft dealership from 1978 to 1980. Went into the Navy, attended AOCS class 24-80 and got my Navy wings in May 1982. Flew F-14's out of Virginia Beach and Fighter Squadron Fourteen, the Mighty Tophatters, on the USS Independence CV62 until June 1986. Went to flight instruct in TA4J's in VT-24, Beeville, Texas. Separated in August 1987 and got hired with Pan American World Airways in Sep. 1987. Flew the 727 and Airbus 300 until they went bankrupt in Dec. 1991. Got hired 1 year later with United Airlines. Flew the 737-300/500, 757/767 and 777 and Airbus 319/320. Was able to check out as Captain on the 737-300 in the spring of 2000. Flew that until 2005 then as Captain on the Airbus for 10 years. The last 5 years was Captain on the 737NG's and survived the 737 MAX before they grounded it. Amassed over 25,000 accident free hours. I swore I would never own an airplane but I still have the bug so I am searching for a Bonanza to buy in the near future....go figure.....🤣
